Metal Gear Solid Peace Walker is a stealth-action game set between the events of Metal Gear Solid Portable Ops and the original Metal Gear game. Revolving around the continuing early adventures of series centerpiece, Snake, it fleshes out the legend of “Big Boss” in the days following the Cuban Missile Crisis through a deep single player story mode, featuring a new control system and missions offering extensive replay value, as well as extensive and engaging co-op multiplayer options.

Story
Stories tell of a legendary soldier who once waged war against the world. His name was Naked Snake, a.k.a. Big Boss, and the truth behind this legend will finally be told. The era is the 1970’s. Big Boss had stationed his “Soldiers Without Borders” in Colombia, South America, where he was approached by visitors from Costa Rica, a “nation without a military.” In the wake of the Cuban Missile Crisis, as Latin America became a key to maintaining the power balance between East and West, Costa Rica had miraculously managed to maintain its peace and neutrality. However, in various regions of the country, a mysterious armed force seemed to be engaging in suspicious activities. Now, to preserve peace in this nation without a military, the “Soldiers Without Borders” move into action. In time, they would be known as the founders of “Outer Heaven.” Forge a new path and live the legend with Metal Gear Solid Peace Walker, the first official Hideo Kojima game on the PSP system.

Mission-based Gameplay
Metal Gear Solid Peace Walker is a tactical-stealth-action game based around mission based gameplay. Play in single player mode begins with a tutorial in which players square off against Snake himself which serves as a way to familiarize themselves with a control scheme that provides changes as well as improvements over those featured in earlier MGS titles for PSP. These cover both weapons and hand-to-hand combat. In addition, players also gain experience using the controls to chain together moves for maximum impact. Once through with the tutorial players embark on a series of missions, the replaying of which offers new enemy actions, as well as the possibility of new devices and tools. During combat players are able to target specific areas of an enemy’s body and performance during each mission is ranked according to elapsed time, number of kills and other criteria.

4-player Co-op Multiplayer
Along with a deep single player mode Metal Gear Solid Peace Walker contains exceptional multiplayer co-op functionality. Co-op action is facilitated via the PSP’s local wireless ad-hoc connection and features different types of missions. Missions more dependent on stealth are limited to two-player games, while others–for example, boss battles–are meant for games of up to four players. Players have their choice of different versions of Snake. These not only possess differing appearance, but more importantly, differing strengths. During co-op play players can pull resources by staying within a minimal distance from each other This link is indicated by circles emanating around them. While maintaining this connection resources can be shared, including weapons, supplies and and overall health, indicated by a shared health bar. Players are able to view partner’s inventory at a touch of the PSP’s left or right face buttons, and when need be can resuscitate a fallen companion. When linked players can also move in unison by virtually tapping your partner’s shoulder with a touch of the D-pad and then making your move.

Key Game Features

    * The Latest Title in the Metal Gear Solid Series – A true continuation of the ever-evolving franchise that stood the test of time and started the stealth action genre, Peace Walker is the first title on the PSP system in which mastermind Hideo Kojima has fully taken up the reigns to direct, write, and design the game himself.
* Extensive Content – Arguably one of the deepest PSP games to be released as Kojima Productions pushes the boundaries of the platform to new levels while blending various game styles together in ways that will captivate and engross both veterans and newcomers to Metal Gear.
* Proven Gameplay, Story, and More – Fans of the series will enjoy the exhilaration of familiar stealth elements of previous MGS titles and will also be enticed by the new gameplay features making their debut in Peace Walker. Those expecting a typical stealth game will be blown away by the Peace Walker experience. This game is a blend of action RPG elements, RTS elements for a PSP experience like none other. Staying true to Metal Gear form, the entire game experience is woven together by a gripping story which unfolds through the artwork of Yoji Shinkawa and acclaimed comic book artist, Ashley Wood.
* Unique Online Multiplayer Support – Peace Walker provides up to 4-player co-op gameplay, which is a revolutionary first for the series that introduces the all-new Co-op Ring and “Snake Formation.” The Co-op Ring allows gamers to interact and build their camaraderie through the sharing of items, equipment, and life gauges during the heat of battle, while the “Snake Formation” lets one player take the lead so the others can focus on defense.
* Massive Replay Value – Replaying missions in Peace Walker earns players new stuff and experiences for Snake that can potentially change your experience.

UFC Undisputed 2010 is action-packed fighting game that recreates the excitement and intensity of the real-life Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC). The game features all aspects of the UFC experience, including a roster of more 100 UFC fighters, a wide range of fighting styles—including new additions Sambo, Karate and Greco-Roman Wrestling—authentic environments and commentary, and a variety of play modes that include Career, Title and Title Defense Modes, as well as multiplayer options accommodating up to 16 players in tournament and training settings.

Gameplay
UFC Undisputed 2010 is a fighting game that places players in the iconic mixed martial arts fighting cage, known as the octagon, with the most devastating MMA fighters to be found in the UFC. As with the original UFC 2009 Undisputed game, action plays out in one-on-one fights in which the player, utilizes a mix of fighting styles which are balanced between striking techniques—a standing game—and grappling techniques—a ground game. Because the strength, experience and fighting style of opponents will vary, it is important to develop both a standing and ground game in order to defeat opponents by knockout, submission or by a decision depending on an opponent’s weakness and/or the opportunities encountered during a match. The game features representations of more than 100 top name UFC fighters, each of which utilizes fighting styles representative of the actual fighter. Along with this realism, the game contains customization options that allow the player to create a fighter of their own with various styles, and/or attire and tattoos. Additional features new to UFC Undisputed 2010 include: the addition of Sambo, Karate and Greco-Roman Wrestling fighting styles; the ability to switch to a southpaw stance at any time; new strikes, submissions, transitions; the ability to change submissions mid-attack; an enhanced Career Mode; and improved online play allowing for 16-player tournaments, online fight camps, co-op sparring and more.

Ultimate Fights Mode
Ultimate Fights Mode is the evolution of UFC 2009′s Classic Fights Mode allowing players to relive some of the more memorable fights in UFC history. Players can play the mode as a single player experience in an attempt to unlock content associated with each fight or play as a two-player experience, squaring off against friends with special presentation and commentary elements. The main difference between Classic Fights from UFC 2009 and the Ultimate Fights for UFC Undisputed 2010 is the introduction of Fight Categories and Multiple Challenges for each fight. Assigning each fight to a category helps structure the mode and allows players to easily identify each type of fight, while the introduction of Multiple Challenges for each fight adds replayability to the mode. You may also “play as the spoiler” and provide additional challenges and unlocks associated with the losing fighter, where players look to “rewrite history.”

Key Game Features

    * UFC Fighters and Personalities – Navigate an unparalleled roster of more than 100 prolific UFC fighters, each fully rendered to convey a photorealistic appearance. Prominent UFC personalities, including the commentary team of Joe Rogan and Mike Goldberg, veteran voice of the Octagon Bruce Buffer, Octagon Girls, referees, trainers and more return to showcase an authentic and memorable UFC video game experience.
* Enhanced Combat – Step into the Octagon with improved combat. A new Sway System with full upper body and head movement allows for the dodging of attacks, while on the ground, a new Posture System delivers strong, fight-ending strikes from every position. Manage Octagon control with new strikes, submissions, transitions and cage positions, as well as experience added realism with the introduction of Southpaw stance.
* Fighter Customization – Enjoy customizable freedom with created fighters by combining move sets from numerous MMA disciplines. Choose from an array of moves from all available disciplines, including newly added Sambo, Karate and Greco-Roman Wrestling, to become a true mixed martial artist.
* Expansive Online Play – Encourage camaraderie by forming fight camps and leagues to participate in ranking and champion tracking systems. Join forces, train like real-life UFC fighters and go online to compete against other camps in the virtual UFC world.
* Career Mode – An intuitive “Game Is Watching You” system tracks every action and uses this information to dictate in-game commentary, opponent intelligence and overall career progression. On the quest to reach the UFC Hall of Fame, enhance the Career Mode experience through online co-op sparring sessions with respective fight camps and form unique personalities for created fighters to increase their cred, popularity and sponsorships based on interactions during weigh-ins and interviews.
* Title and Title Defense Modes – Fight through one of UFC’s five official weight classes to earn and defend a championship belt in Title Mode. In Title Defense Mode, a fighter’s condition remains persistent, with milestone challenges built in along the way.
* Tournament Mode – Explore up to 16-player individual and team tournaments within one system. Utilize UFC fighters or created fighters and select from arcade-style play with repeated fighter appearances or experience simulation play with fighter representation limited to one appearance.

Plot

Prince of Persia: The Forgotten Sands will return to the storyline established by the critically acclaimed Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time in 2003 and previously concluded by Prince of Persia: The Two Thrones in 2005. On December 14, 2009, Ubisoft UK released the first details of the story on their official video portal.

The Prince is back and he is visiting his brother’s kingdom following his adventure in Azad, the Prince finds the royal palace under siege from a mighty army bent on its destruction. When the decision is made to use the ancient power of the Sand in a desperate gamble to save the kingdom from total annihilation, the Prince will embark on an epic adventure in which he will learn to bear the mantle of true leadership, and discover that great power often comes with great responsibility.

The game is an interquel, taking place in the seven year gap between The Sands of Time and Warrior Within. The Prince character is supposed to be a cross between the character models in these two games. Once again he will be voiced by Yuri Lowenthal.

According to Nintendo Power, the Wii version’s plot will revolve around a female djinn seeking help from the prince to liberate a kingdom enslaved by a mysterious evil.

Star Wars: The Force Unleashed, also known as The Force Unleashed, is a LucasArts video game and part of the The Force Unleashed project; other The Force Unleashed project developers and publishers include Dark Horse Comics, Lego, Hasbro, and Del Rey Books. The Force Unleashed was initially developed for the PlayStation 2, PlayStation 3, Wii, and Xbox 360 consoles and on the iPhone OS, second-generation N-Gage, Nintendo DS, PlayStation Portable, and Java-equipped mobile phone handhelds. The sequel, Star Wars: The Force Unleashed II, was announced at the 2009 Spike Video Game Awards.

Gameplay

The Force Unleashed is a third-person action game in which the player’s character’s weapons are the Force and a lightsaber. Developers treated the main character’s lightsaber like another Force power, and wanted to ensure “something visceral and cool” happened with each button-push. The game has a combo system for stringing lightsaber attacks and for combining lightsaber attacks with Force powers. Experience points earned by killing enemies and finding artifacts can be used to increase Starkiller’s powers and traits. The game is intended to be easy to learn how to play; the development team included “horrible” gamers to help ensure the game’s accessibility. Players can casually run and gun through the game, but the game rewards those who take a stealthy, more tactical approach. The game includes enemies that are easy to overcome; game difficulty arises from presenting these enemies in large numbers that can wear down the player’s character. Additionally, enemies learn from the player’s character’s attacks; using the same attack on different characters can sometimes lead to the player’s character doing less damage. The enemies, which number over 50, have various strengths and weaknesses; developers faced the difficulty of effectively placing them throughout the game’s varied environments.

Plot

Set between Revenge of the Sith and A New Hope, The Force Unleashed begins with the player controlling Darth Vader as he searches Kashyyyk for a surviving Jedi. After defeating the Jedi in battle, Vader discovers a child who is strong in the Force and raises him to become his apprentice, unknown to Emperor Palpatine. When the apprentice (known in the game as “Starkiller”, and whom the player now controls) reaches adulthood, Vader sends him to kill the remaining Jedi as training for his ultimate goal: assassinating the Emperor so Vader can rule the galaxy himself. However, the Emperor discovers Starkiller’s existence and forces Vader to kill the apprentice; Vader hurls Starkiller into space, but secretly dispatches droids to retrieve and revive him. Vader sends his apprentice to foster a rebellion among those who resist the Empire, distracting the Emperor so Vader can make his move. Breaking into various Imperial facilities, Starkiller rescues Rogue Shadow pilot Juno Eclipse, Jedi Master Rahm Kota, Princess Leia Organa, and Senator Bail Organa. In the process, Starkiller learns from Kota about the Jedi way, ultimately sparing Jedi apprentice Maris Brood. Starkiller travels between missions aboard the Rogue Shadow, whose crew develops a close relationship.

Senators Organa, Mon Mothma, and Garm Bel Iblis meet to plan a rebellion against the Empire, but are interrupted when Darth Vader arrests them and Kota. Vader attacks Starkiller and reveals that Starkiller was never meant to overthrow the Emperor; from the beginning, he was the Emperor’s tool to expose his enemies, and that Vader’s plans to overthrow the Emperor did not include Starkiller. Surviving Vader’s attack, Starkiller uses the Force to ascertain the senators’ and Kota’s location: the Death Star. Inside the station, Starkiller duels Darth Vader. Kota attempts to fight the Emperor, but is wounded by the Emperor’s Force lightning.

At this point, the player chooses to either seek revenge and kill Vader, or save Kota from the Emperor:

    * If the player attacks and kills Vader, the Emperor offers to let Starkiller take Vader’s place as his apprentice if Starkiller proves himself by killing Kota. Starkiller instead attacks the Emperor, who crushes Starkiller with the Rogue Shadow and kills Kota and all his allies. The story ends with Starkiller’s broken body being grafted with armor, turning him into a Sith Stalker, so he can serve as the Emperor’s assassin until Palpatine finds a new apprentice; the game ends with Palpatine assuring Starkiller that he, like Vader, will be cast aside. The Infinities expansion content builds on this ending.

    * If the player attacks and defeats Emperor Palpatine, Kota prevents Starkiller from killing Palpatine in hatred. Starkiller dies while absorbing the Emperor’s renewed attack, but Kota and the senators escape. The Emperor and Vader look over Starkiller’s corpse, concerned that he has become a martyr to inspire the newly formed Rebel Alliance. Senator Organa and the others agree to proceed with their rebellion and Leia decides to use Starkiller’s family crest as the Rebellion’s symbol. Outside, Juno talks to Kota, who tells her that among Starkiller’s dark thoughts, Juno herself was one bright spot that he held onto right until his death. This is the canon ending.

Prince of Persia: The Forgotten Sands is an upcoming multiplatform videogame developed by Ubisoft due for release on May 18, 2010, in North America and May 20 in Europe. The game is a latest installment in the Prince of Persia series, and will mark a return to the storyline started by Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time. The Wii and PSP versions are being developed by Ubisoft Quebec; the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and Microsoft Windows are being handled by Ubisoft Montreal with the help of Ubisoft Singapore, while the DS version is being made at Casablanca

Visiting his brother’s kingdom following his adventure in Azad, the Prince finds the royal palace under siege from a mighty army bent on its destruction.

Gameplay

Xbox 360, PS3 and PC versions

Prince of Persia: The Forgotten Sands is to “feature many of the fan-favorite elements from the original series as well as new gameplay innovations”, according to a press release from Ubisoft. The Prince has the ability to rewind time from the very beginning of the game and throughout the game he learns new powers. The biggest new feature is the addition of elemental powers, which bring a new dimension to the core gameplay, because of the way these powers interact with each other and the Prince’s other abilities. There are four core powers in the game. For example, the Prince can “solidify” water fountains and turn them into climbable columns. Besides these core powers, there are also minor powers, that can be purchased to enhance the Prince’s abilities from a Djinn named Razia. Her character will be found in a mystical dimension similar to that one in The Sands of Time where The Fountain of Time could be found. These minor powers include a shield and the power to summon small tornadoes.

The combat in the game is similar to combat mechanics found in Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time. The Prince will be able to fight multiple enemies in one battle, up to 50 at once. An important part of the combat is “crowd control” and evading enemies, as well as combos. There is no blocking and there are no quick-time events in the game.

The DS, PSP and Wii versions are developed separately and will feature different gameplay than the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC versions.

Wii version

In the Wii version of the game, the Prince will wield three new powers: a Sand Ring, serving as a wall grip to ascend areas where there are no ledges or grips; a pillar to get higher; and a protection sphere to avoid falling or getting caught in traps. These three magical sand powers will serve both in navigation sequences, during combat and also to solve puzzles. The source of these three new powers is a magical phial discovered by the prince. Later in the game, the challenges will necessitate the player to combine all of the three powers. With time, the powers will be found to have more than one specific usage; according to Nintendo Power, the Sand Ring will eventually serve to activate some special power crystals.

Combat in the Wii version makes use of the Wii’s motion sensing capabilities. A flick of the Wii Remote will swing the Prince’s sword, and the same gesture with the Nunchuk will make him throw a punch. The rest of his combat moves (like rolling, blocking, etc.) will simply use buttons, as the developers didn’t want to make the game exhausting by overusing motion controls. According to Nintendo Power, the swordplay does feel similar to the previous installments. From time to time, certain foes will have a blue aura surrounding them, meaning he is the “leader” of the group of enemies; bringing the player to the use of some strategy: if you kill the leader, the other enemies will flee instantly. Using a Sand Ring on an enemy will freeze him for a brief period of time.

The Wii version will also feature a cooperative multiplayer and will include the Super NES version of the original Prince of Persia.

Features:

    * Latest installment in the Prince of Persia: Sands of Time story line
* Encounter enemies determined to take you down
* Confront the danger that lurks around you in a land of mystery and intrigue
* Unleash powerful offensive battle measures against opposing forces
* Face off against well-matched enemies in battles of deadly significance

The PS3 version of the game contains additional content including 3 exclusive Legends fighters, exclusive Ultimate Fights and some of the greatest fights in UFC History on a separate Blu-ray disc.

PlayStation 3 Exclusive Content
PlayStation 3 players of UFC Undisputed 2010 enjoy additional exclusive content. This includes 3 exclusive Legends fighters – Royce Gracie, Jens Pulver, Dan Severn; some of the greatest fights in UFC history on Blu-ray; and five exclusive Ultimate Fights for play in Ultimate Fights Mode.
